about me Prudence Lin

Hi, I’m Grace Lin — though let’s be honest, I wasn’t very prudent growing up.

I ate rainbow-colored snacks, drank neon drinks with ingredient names I couldn’t pronounce, and thought “natural flavors” meant fruit that came from a science lab. 😅

I’m an Asian girl, the oldest of three kids, and I grew up in Los Angeles with a superhero mom — though for a while, even superheroes can fall.

My mom raised us alone. She worked long hours, doing everything she could to make ends meet in a city that never slows down. With so little time and energy, she gave us whatever food was fast and affordable: snacks in shiny wrappers, microwave meals, and colorful drinks with names we couldn’t pronounce.

None of us knew those everyday foods were quietly harming us.

I still remember how my mom started to change. She was always exhausted, not just tired — but deep, can’t-get-up tired. She had brain fog, body pain, and a heart that wanted to do more than her body could handle. Doctors eventually told her she had chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

At the same time, my little brother was constantly sick, my sister was moody and sluggish, and I was always tired too — no matter how much I slept. We thought it was normal. It wasn’t.

Years later, I started reading and learning about toxic ingredients hiding in everyday food. Preservatives, dyes, artificial sweeteners — stuff banned in other countries, but still in the snacks we ate every day. I felt sick to my stomach.
No one told us.
No one warned us.

But we started making changes. We shifted to cleaner, organic food. My mom swapped our snacks and ingredients, even our household products. And slowly, we began to heal.

Now my mom can go for walks again. My brother’s rarely sick. My sister smiles more. And I feel like a real teenager — not just surviving, but finally thriving.

This blog is for moms like mine — strong, loving, doing their best, and maybe just missing one piece of the puzzle.
Educating busy moms is my passion. So is seeing kids grow up happy, strong, and healthy — not just making it through the day, but feeling their best, inside and out.

You don’t have to do everything.
But you can know more than we did.
Let’s learn together — for your kids, and for the future they deserve.

With love,
Grace Lin 💛
